Week 9 cometh to a close

Aristotle
Logical Fallacies based on works of Aristotle

~ Argumentum Ad Hominem
Philosophy The Logical Fallacy of usage of direct verbal assault to discredit or ruin a person's Ethos.

' Mr. Gee has always given us very hard questions. He is a liar, he is a thief and he is a hunter!
How can we trust him to set a paper will have a chance of us passing? I say you vote for me,
Mr. Johari or Mr. Peh to set the paper instead!!!'

The flaw in this is that they tried to discredit Mr. Gee's reputation of a good maths test setter. This makes people less
likely to believe what Mr. Gee will say, even if what he has to say is perfectly logical. Even though Mr. Gee can say that
' I set hard papers during class to make sure that the average standard exam papers are easy in comparison', people will
be less inclined to believe him.

English:
- Work on your intro to your speech writing. The entire speech should be done by the end of week 10.
You are given this problem. Post a comment to this blog about your answer.

Through depths of space and time, Scientists discover an alien dimension with different places where the laws of physics are distorted and different. There are intelligent lifeforms there, and scientists have been able to communicate with them via high-energy electromagnetic signals. They inquire about how the laws of our world differ from theirs, for they are more curious creatures than we are. Surprisingly, it is only the simplest questions that perplexed many educated minds of the world. You, as a mathematical philosopher, is tasked to describe a circle in plain English.

Here is my answer: A circle is defined as a polygon with an infinite amount of sides. If you were to draw a tangent for every point of the circle, each would differ in infinitely, equally small amounts.
